Yup, slow down. It’s amazing how easy it is to be thoughtless and even rude when we’re in a hurry. Stuff can just pop out of our mouths and we can brush aside important moments because “we’re on a mission!” I know that my to-do list seems to be getting longer – for every item that gets crossed off, 2 more appear! So this reminder is for me as much as it is for you.
- This week’s artist is – Bryan Mark Taylor – whose work and products I’d seen before running across him in a podcast. It’s fun to see someone who works across a variety of subjects. Be sure to check out his website and instagram for even more!
- The Art Supply House will be closed tomorrow (Thursday) from 11:30-1:30 for a staff holiday lunch, since we can’t gather anywhere else.
- Liquitex and Juxtapoz Magaine have partnered for a virtual residency. The application closes soon (but it’s really quick) so hurry if you might be interested.
- Durango’s Business Improvement District featured the Art Supply House!

- Looking for studio space away from home? Get Fused is trying to build a sort of artists’ collective. There are three artists who have studio space and there’s more space available! Call them if you might be interested!

Tuesday, we received as many paint sets as were available to order (which isn’t as many as we would have liked). They make great gifts, if you’re looking for any ideas. Over the next two weeks, we’ll have some sales running in the store – some before the holiday and some after. Just as a heads-up! 😀
So, as a reminder (to me, and maybe it’ll be helpful for you) – Let’s slow down and even pause now and then. Look at the folks around us and listen to what they are saying. Remember the amazing place we live and pause to enjoy the views. Life is way more delightful at a slower speed. A great way to help ourselves slow down? Pull out some your art materials and draw/paint/capture what you see. The world is an amazing place, and it’s worth taking the time to appreciate it. Even if it’s something that a dozen other people have captured, your individual take is unique and worth sharing. The world needs your art!
